| dockman Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 9/14/2002 5:21:56 PM    I just installed a USR5699b modem in a Compaq 5190. it only worked right once, after formating my hard drive and reinstalling my O/S I connected at 44000. Now I am lucky to connect at 21000 if at all. It sometimes took 20 to 30 tries to connect. I have contacted USR support 2 times and they dont know what is going on. I have changed ports, re-installed drivers, downloaded drivers, formated and reloaded my system several times. I have also disabled the v90 and doing that lets me connect every time but only at 21000 max. I am out of ideas. Any help would be appriciated. |
