I have a USR 56k winmodem and when I connect to my isp I connect at 36k, ok that isn't the problem the problem is that it goes soo slow after it is connected. The data transfter stops and starts for several seconds. The second part to this is a little while ago I signed up for freewwweb and started using their service and when I connected at 36k and above the modem would run fine and I would get download speeds at 5k a second. But now freewwweb is out of business and I'm back to my old ISP. The only way I can use my modem is if I disable v.90 s32=66. My isp is using v.90 modems so I don't see what the problem could be. |
