klim Tl Posts: 5 USA | Posted - 9/29/2003 8:33:52 AM I already have AT&FX in the Extra box, do I add a comma and then L0? If so, I've tried that and it disabled the modem, "hardware failure" I think was the message. |

klim Tl Posts: 5 USA | Posted - 9/30/2003 3:38:06 PM M1L0 does not make a difference, it's still way loud when connecting. M0 when used alone will silence the modem, but if used with the init string, AT&FX, I get a 630 error. Is there another way to silence or tone down the modem connecting while still using the init string? |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 9/30/2003 7:55:17 PM You do not want init string that has &F with any USR modem. USR uses &F1 for 56k defaults. But, you shouldn't use it anyway - only add strings that are actually needed - in your case, just m0 to silence modem www.modemsite.com/56k/initmagic.asp Aloha! Richard. |
