| regbro Tl Posts: 6 USA | Posted - 11/13/2003 1:12:12 PM    I have a Compaq Presario 5304 PC that I used to enjoy 56KB connection speeds on routinely(well, actually averaged connect speed was around 53KB). I recently began experiencing severe line drops and disconnect problems so to solve this problem I downloaded the generic Agere Win Modem 830. This solved my line drop and disconnect problem but now I can only achieve connect speeds of between 16.8 and 19.2 max. Any thoughs or suggesstions, anyone?

Would like to see a modem log and the ati11 results from hyperterminal. Have you made any changes on this system before this problem? Try the connection with every thing disconnected from the phone line,only the modem connected to the phone plug.Try other phone jacks. |
