RoyG Tl Posts: 3 USA | Posted - 11/13/2003 3:13:16 PM I'm trying to find out how to get my modem to turn my computer back on when a phone call is received while the computer is in sleep mode. I am on Win XP-Home. Is this a modem or computer setup problem ? |

RoyG Tl Posts: 3 USA | Posted - 11/16/2003 9:52:56 PM Thank you for responding. My Computer has the following settings: 2. Under "My Computer/Manage/Device Mgr" Modem is on 3. In "Setup" under "Power Mgmt" ACPI is set to "S1(POS)" 4. In "Setup" under "Wake Up Events": If you need any other settings, please state what you need. Thanks, RoyG |
charles Tl Posts: 5879 USA | Posted - 11/17/2003 10:58:11 AM Bios looks ok checking if this modem support WOM.Do you have the modem set up to answer a call coming in? The modem will answer with the S0= command like S0=2 the modem will answer on second ring. WOM has change alot in setup, before you needed a External and you had to leave the power on the modem. Now the card needs no power but you may need software open to take the card. http://www.aopen.com/tech/techinside/wom.htm Wake Up on Ring is a Rapid Resume feature. When you enable it, the computer will turn on when the phone rings assuming you have the telephone line connected to the computer. If you have fax or fax/voice software open, the computer can receive faxes or messages after it turns on. |

But when it shuts down due to inactivity it won't come back on when the phone rings. Do you see any changes I can make that will enable the system to return to normal when the phone rings? |
