If you want the speaker always on try M2 in extra setting.
The modem's speaker is always on

Nope that did not work or i am entering the string incorectly. What i am trying to do is be able to record all activity on the line with the click of the mouse but i cant seem to tap into the sound device that my modem drivers placed on the comp (unimodem full duplex audio device) I wish there was a way to just set that as an input on some recording software and record from it but i cant seem to do that. =\ Any tips or other methods of recording? Thanks for the m2 suggestion. I will look up more strings for the modem see if there is another string or another way to enter that one.

How did you enter the m2 ?
( it's called 'extra settings')
You can verify whether the m2 was sent by checking the modemlog
www.modemsite.com/56k/modemlog.asp

You can also test m2 by using Hyperterminal -
www.modemsite.com/56k/x2-hyperterm.asp
ATm2
ATD(your isp #)
after CONNECT, speaker should still have sound.

Aloha! Richard.
