hi, can anyone tell me if my 3com 2976 OEM modem is a winmodem or a hard modem BTW its a PCI.

All I can tell you is that I have a 3Com 2977 OEM PCI Modem and I was told by Micron PC that it is not a WInmodem. They said it is a controller modem. When I asked them what that meant, they said it was a hardware modem that uses Com port 5 to connect to.

Not sure that helps............ but I gave you what I was told.......... :)
