When I connect the computer up at my house it will connect fine. But when I take it to his house it will not connect to the server. Could it be the phone line noise not letting the modem communicate with the server right or what. |

| billybones Tl Posts: 2 USA | Posted - 1/15/2004 5:47:38 PM It is a compaq presario 4546 with a compaq 56k-DF modem. No he does not have voice mail. No its not a long distance, its the same local number to the ISP in both locations. |

| charles Tl Posts: 5879 USA | Posted - 1/27/2004 8:49:56 AM voicemail put out a tone to let you know that you have voice mail,the modem can not detect this as a dial tone because it is not a steady tone. You can add commas to the dial number to pause the modem from detecting dial tone until the voice mail tone are gone. ,,,,,XXX-XXXX |
