| Litefoot Tl Posts: 2 USA | Posted - 2/10/2004 11:43:52 AM    Our company just issued us replacement laptops (Compaq Evo) with Win 2K OS and Lucent Win Modems. I'm presently using driver version 8.18. We typically use our laptops to dial out on an analog cell phone through a cellular connector (which provides dial tone). This has worked fine in the past, but with these new 56K modems, we are having a hard time getting connected. Our connection speed is typically 9.6 KB. Is there something I can do to get the modem to work at a slow baud rate like maybe disable 56K? Any help would be greatly appreciated! |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 2/10/2004 6:36:58 PM  Try limiting speed to V.34 - +MS=V34 in extra settings V34 = max 33.6k - since you can't get close to that with cellular, you could also limit to V.32 - Aloha! Richard. |
