I've bought a Creative Modem Blaster USB, but it disconnects from to time. I've heard something about that you can "train" your modem with AT-commands so it can work better with the tele-line. Which command is that? I've also tried to use the +PMHT-command, but the modem doesn't "save" the new settings. Why? How do I make it to save the settings and how can I control the settings?

I've also got some problems with "Netwaiting" (Version 2.5.5G). I can't Accept incoming calls, the button is non-clickable. Itäs the sam ewith External calls, I can click the button, but it is modem-sounds in the telephone and the connection doesn't pause. I've got "Call-on-hold service" and everything. I've also got the latest drivers from Creative, so I need some real expertise =)

Thanks for all your help I hop I will get here..! =)

All your problems seem to point out that your ISP does not support V.92 yet. That means your modem can't connect quicker or accept calls without disconnecting... It could also be that your modem isn't set correctly. I suppose you know how to use HyperTerminal. Connect to your modem and type this first:

AT+MS=V92

Now it should support V.92 if your settings were wrong. Try this now:

AT+PQC=0

Now your modem should be able to be trained and connect quicker. For Modem-on-Hold:

AT+PCW=0

Then

AT+PMH=0

Then

AT+PMHT=13

Now it should listen for Call waiting tones, let the user accept calls with programs like NetWaiting, and the time to call is as long as the ISP supports. To save the settings:

AT&W

Now close HyperTerminal and try to connect as you do normally. I've got all the V.92 commands from http://www.modemsite.com/56k/v92c.asp . They work for my Creative Modem Blaster V.92 Serial, so they should work for your USB version as well, I suppose.

P.S. If your ISP does not support V.92 anyway, all these commands will be no use. Try them anyway.
