Wartybliggens Tl Posts: 3 Thailand | Posted - 3/5/2004 7:53:20 AM I am trying to record phone calls, but when the software picks up the line, the sound cuts on this end. The other person cannot hear me, either, but the software can hear them and records their voice until they give up saying "Hello? Hello?" and hang up. There is an audible click from the modem when it picks up the line, and that is when the sound to the handset is cut. What can I do about this? The modem is an Aztech USB that uses Smartlink chips I think. Any ideas? |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 3/6/2004 10:28:26 PM Use a splitter to connect the phone and modem to the same jack (or equivalent) - Many modems 'phone' jack is disabled when modem is off-hook. Aloha! Richard. |
Wartybliggens Tl Posts: 3 Thailand | Posted - 3/7/2004 3:50:04 AM Thanks for replying. Please forgive my ignorance, but my modem has and "in" jack from the wall and and "out" jack to the phone. Are you saying that I need to attach both to the "in" jack? That works? I'll try it. Splitters aren't expensive. On my modem's box is a list of features, including "handset exclusion". That might be the culprit. Thanks again. I hope you reply again. |

Wartybliggens Tl Posts: 3 Thailand | Posted - 3/7/2004 8:23:40 AM Yes, the software is Modemspy. The modem is an Aztech UM 9800 USB data/fax/voice modem listed under "Com 3" in control panel. Does that count as a serial modem? What is TAM support? I'm using XP. Is there any other software you think is good?

lionman Tl Posts: 1 USA | Posted - 7/3/2004 1:33:53 PM What is a good modem for modem spy's Preferences/ Hardware tab / Monitor the heasset's hookswitch state? I need to record outgoing calls without Modem Spy picking up the line every 30 seconds. Also, does anyone know if I can use 2 telephony programs on the same modem? I like another program's fax and voicemail features better than Modem Spy: PhoneWorks Pro 2004 (multiple voicemail boxes, fax to OCR, sends all infor to Outlook), but it does not record incoming and outgoing phone calls automatically. Or does anyone know of any software that does it all? LOL! I have a Broadcom v.92 voice modem now. Any suggestions? lionman |
