Searched on there site for "extra strings" but seem to only find new drivers(just bought this modem) Out of box it connected at 31k. One it replaced connects at 42/44k most times. Original modem connected at 51/52 like clockwork.(broadcom chip) Unlike the other modems the new USR5610b is a controller based one as the others were software.Everyone says the newest should by far be the fastest line speed of all. I dont care about how long it takes to make a connection but would like a connection that is as fast as my line is capable of giving(something closer to the 51/52 of old modem. Any info anyone knows of ? Thanks |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 3/21/2004 7:57:34 AM  Many modems simply don't tell you the truth about their speed. IOW - that modem that gave you the 51-52k speed - and which you now seek to duplicate - probably gave you nothing near the 51-52k it reported. The USR modem:
