What are some of the signs that a modem is no longer working? My mom's modem is taking up to 5 minutes to connect to the internet then once it's connected it MIGHT allow her to go to one website then it gives her error messages as if she is not connected.

Sorry I don't have the specific info as to what type of modem it is but I'm just trying to figure out if the modem is broken or if it's possibly another problem. Thanks so much for any advice you could possibly provide.

You really need to find out what kind of modem (chipset) it is - in many cases, updating the modem driver will solve connectivity problems.
