| Trasher-X Tl Posts: 5 Philippines | Posted - 4/2/2004 12:15:12 PM     Why my modem USR V.Everything 56 was not detected by my windows ... Since i Drop on the floor ... It not Responding Anymore ... if i add Manually It Works Properly say by the Computer ... but if i Query the modem The Computer says The Modem is not responding ...  and if i diald the modem the computer says There's a hardware failure On the modem or other connecting device.... i test all the Rs232 cable its working on the other modem like im using right now on my 14.4 kbps modem.... is it possible that the program inside the modem was erase due to shock cause by hard drop? i check the Board of modem there is no Crack or cut Copper ... cause if i Detect manually ... the computer will know that there is a modem but not replying on Query on More Info ... there is no Information Inside the modem...if possible Do i can Re program the modem? How? its me Trasher-X from Philippines Thank you ... Ihope i can find an answer as soon someone read this Problem..... Time is Gold |
| charles Tl Posts: 5879 USA | Posted - 4/3/2004 1:12:39 AM If you are running XP make sure you turn the modem on before you boot up. Have you tried to reinstall the modem? |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 4/4/2004 11:04:46 AM It sounds to me like the drop 'killed' the modem. Do you get the normal lights when you turn the modem on? Try connecting to the modem's COM port directly with Hyperterminal with your port speed set to 57,600 Which model Courier do you have?

Yes Richard thers a 2 lights On the [CS] and [MR] only. then if i try to Communicate the Modem, Computer say THE MODEM IS NOT RESPONDING, But While Communicating the Lights on will become 4 the [CS] [RS] [MR] [TR] ... Then if i Diald the Connections (MY ISP) Only this 4 lighsts will ONN [CS] [RS] [MR] [TR] ... then i read the LOGS and this is the LOGS says, 4-06-2004 02:59:26.095 - Modem type: U.S. Robotics Courier V.Everything EXT 04-06-2004 02:59:26.095 - Modem inf path: mdmusrcr.inf 04-06-2004 02:59:26.095 - Modem inf section: Modem_00BA 04-06-2004 02:59:26.095 - Matching hardware ID: unimodem39bac9e9 04-06-2004 02:59:26.095 - 4800,8,N,1, ctsfl=1, rtsctl=2 04-06-2004 02:59:26.095 - Initializing modem. 04-06-2004 02:59:26.095 - DSR is low while initializing the modem. Verify modem is turned on. 04-06-2004 02:59:26.095 - CTS is low while initializing modem. 04-06-2004 02:59:26.105 - Send: AT<cr> 04-06-2004 02:59:28.108 - Timed out waiting for response from modem 04-06-2004 02:59:28.108 - The modem failed to respond to the initialization command, Retrying one more time Well Thats it....
