Ok, I'll try to make this as short as possible. I purchased this computer in mid Feb.and have had nothing but problems from the very first day. Lets see aol was my isp at the time, now sbc yahoo. Sometimes when I go on line there are no probs, Connects first try. Then there are times it takes 6-7-8-9-+ attempts before it finally connects, if I don't get the "try again later" message first. Other messages I get are, unable to connect because the modem(or other connection device) on the remote computer is out of order, also something about the remote computer did not respond. I have contacted the manufacturer several times, as well as aol tech support before switching to sbc yahoo. I have lost count of the number of solutions I've been and tried in my attempt to correct this problem. I feel that the manufacturer is dragging this out intentionally until my warranty expires. While on the phone with manufacturer tech support she did the hyperterminal test on my modem and said it was not my modem. I just dont believe that 7 access numbers and 2 isp's modems on their remote computers are out of order. Oh by the way my old computer used the same access #'s for aol as I was using with my new computer and I never had a problem connecting with it. Can someone help me solve this problem before I end up sending it back to the manufacturer in let's say several pieces. Help I am at my wits end here.

Often, computers come with outdated driver - so the first thing I'd suggest is check what driver version you have and what version might be available for your modem.
(Does computer mfr offer website/drivers? Check chipset and see what other generic drivers may be available if computer mfr doesn't have an update) -

When you do connect, what speed do you get?
Post your post-call diagnostics and modemlog
