..is this the way it should be, even when I disconnect from the access manager, it appears that the modem is still sending some info. Any comments regarding what is being sent or if I may have a virus, please let me know.

Not familiar with 'access manager'.
If the modem has been disconnected from the call, it can't transmit or receive anything except commands from your PC.
