I'm running Win 98SE on a PC with AMD Athlon k7 processor, 600mhz, 128 RAM, 27Ghb hard drive. Some weeks ago I received a malicious program via the internet that installed a premium line phone number on my Internet connections. This program shut off ISP connection and tried to dial up via this new number. I have been successfull in removing this malicious program but it has silenced my modem speaker presumably so as I can't hear it dialing up the wrong number. I'm despearately trying to restore my modem sound. Can anyone please offer some advice on how I may get this back. If I may just point out another forum where other people are having the same problem as me.
