I purchased a used external Sportster Faxmodem 56k with X2 and do not have a an AC adapter. If anynoe knows the Voltage polarity and current rating for this modem please let me know.

I'm pretty sure the modem you have uses a 9V-AC adapter - AC->DC conversion/supplies is done on the modem board.

Since it's AC, there's no polarity.
