I have a rollout of the v.92 modems and they do not connect to our cisco router. If I use S32=98, I can authenticate to the router but I do not get an ip address. The error is tcp/ip cp 718. I called cisco and usr and no on can figure this thing out. :( Does anyone have any ideas or contacts using 5686d (-05) modems connecting to a cisco router? I appreciate ANY help at this point!!

Thanks all.

Have you tried any other client modems & not have problem?
(Like Lucent/Agere and/or Conexant, PCTel?)

The USR modems - what firmware version is reported?
response to
ati7

How about using
ATs32=130 +PCW=2 +PIG=1 +PQC=3
for init string (disables all V.92)?

Aloha! Richard.

No, I have not used any other modems and I have used the string you suggested. I have found out in the mean time, using S32=98 and disabling LCP in the configuration option of PPP for a W2k/XP client under the DUNS settings. I have many W95 clients and I'm testing the S32 register to see what happens.
