I'm trying to install a second modem on an XP machine. I can install the second modem but after about 5 minutes I get a message about a hardware conflict. Both use Conexant chipsets and I'm using the latest drivers. I think it may be a driver issue as both use the same drivers and therefore files. Anyone with any ideas :)

Most controllerless and softmodem driver designs are not capable of supporting more than 1 modem.
Solution is to use more than 1 chipset for multiple modems.

Aloha! Richard.

Thanks for that Richard :)
I'll need another modem with a different chipset then?

Thanks Richard!
That's what I suspected. I'll need a modem with an alternative chipset then?
