WILLSHAW Tl Posts: 2 Canada | Posted - 5/27/2004 2:31:35 PM I am using a Compaq Armada 1700 laptop with Windows 98SE. It is equiped with a Compaq 56VL Global Internal Modem and I'm using VCOMM.vxd driver. I would like to use the V.92 Technology in order to be able to switch to voice line when a call is incoming and then switch back after the call. Is it possible for me to upgrade my driver to take advatage of V.92 Technology? What should determine how long a period I subscribe to this Modem Site?? Advise appreciated. Bill Bill |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 5/28/2004 9:30:44 AM In order to fully support V.92, you'll need a different/new modem. The Lucent (now Agere) chipset used in your modem (the 'LT Win') won't provide V.92 functionality even though it will operate using the 8.xx V.92 drivers. You could use Modemsite's special 8.02 driver to support disconnect on call waiting (no hold/resume internet connection). As for Modemsite Premium Access - whether and how long you subscribe is all up to you - Aloha! Richard. |

You've enabled me to solve a family stress point, missing phone calls, and you probably prolonged a marriage that has been going for 47 years. Thanks again .......... Bill
