Hi,

I'd like to record the sounds from a data session (especially the handshake) with my Creative V.92 external Modem Blaster. Is this (easily) possible? If so, how then?

Thanks in advance!
Mippo.

Some of the ways include:

leave modem speaker on using init string of
m2
and use microphone to record desired audio;

There are phone-line-audio interface devices that can be purchased that provide standard audio in/out connections (this type of device needs to be inline and effectively off-hook with respect to phone line, and may affect the modem performance) for example:

Hi,

I need to be able to record the modem handshake and data transfer so that they can be analyzed. I'm trying to use the device sold by Radio Shack for recording voice conversations via a microphone port on my notebook but the volume is too low. My audio properties are set with microphone volume is maxed.

I'm using GoldWave for recording and analysis.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Suggest - try using Windows Sound Recorder to see if the volume there is also too low; if it is, if possible try connecting the RadioShack device to a standalone recorder of some sort (cassette); try connecting it to a different (desktop) PC and check level

Aloha! Richard.

Thanks for the reply. The problem turned out to be a faulty telephone recording control from Radio Shack. Took it back and exchanged it. New one works great.
