The microcontroller serial port ( DCE ) is connected to the PC serial port ( COM1 ) through a straight through serial cable. I do not get OK reponse to any of the AT commnads - AT, ATE1, ATDT, etc., i.e., there are no OK's on the HyperTerminal screen. The internal modem is connected to COM3. Next I tried issuing AT commands to the modem through the HyperTerminal by connecting to COM3 ( to which the modem is connected ). Even this elicited no OK response. This however works on creating a HyperTerminal connection directly with the modem. It is not clear to me whether the set-up described ( of sending AT commands to the internal modem through the serial port ) is supposed to work at all or whether there is something missing in my set-up or system. |
