I am planning to join conference call by using my laptop without a telephone.
But the problem is after dialing the numbers of call, I was prompted to enter the passcode, but I failed to dial the passcode manually since the software does not allow me to do this. I use the Dialer comes with Win2K.

Anyone has any clue on this?

Further, looks like I have to pick up the handset of the phone connected to my modem to make others in the call hear me. Is there any software which does not need to do so? Or is this a limitation of TAPI?

Your advice will be highly appreciated.

I tried the ACC, but failed to find a way to do this.

What is the lap top and modem?
Could set up its own dial up connectoid but add the right setup in extra settings. You might add the w and the comma, to the dialing number,

You really need a voice/fax/speakerphone modem to do what you describe. Voice modem really designed for voice=answering machine functionality.
It may be possible with other software to do voice with soundcard, but definitely not with the Windows dialer.

All Windows dialer is just that a dialer,it will only dial the number. Need other software to handle the call. The way I check my voice mail is to put the number in to dial XXX-XXXX then I add commas,,,, because it will ask for password so I set it up like this XXX-XXXX,,,,,,******

Thanks for your information, Charles and Richard.

I finally got my problem fix with the AT command (;) from the link provided above, in hyper terminal. I can dial numbers in anytime I want :).

But still I can't find a way to get others hear me without picking up the handset. Could you please shed some light on this? Or I need a voice modem?

My modem is Conexant D480(softk56),in a Dell D600, should be a software modem.
