Problem: Whenever I connect to the internet (which I can quickly) I then have a 3-4 minute wait while virtually no bytes are received or sent. After that period, data starts to flow and pages load quickly. Why? I have a Zoom 2925L, which has a phone line in and one out. When I first disconnected my home phone from the modem the problem seemed solved. There was no waiting to get on line. Unfortunately, the problem persists. Any help would be appreciated...

What operating system are you using?
If Win9x - the logon to network can cause such a problem

If you have a network card in computer that isn't being used, disable it

Richard: Thanks but the connectoid is set up correctly. I have no problem connecting. Again, almost no data is being sent/received for 3-4 minutes.

What driver version are you using? (ati3 from Hyperterminal)
Post your modem log, post your post-call modem diagnostics, you may also want to enable PPP logging and check it.
