For a leased line modem design, If it has special requirement for the modem data pump hardware? Never give up! |

Some dial-up modems require the DC line voltage to be present; some do not, although almost all modern dial-up modems will by default attempt to detect dial-tone and fail to connect unless you disable dial-tone detection. In most cases, if the modem doesn't have an electro-mechanical DAA (a relay to put modem on/off hook), the DAA will be telco-line powered. Aloha! Richard. |
