ymoti Tl Posts: 10 China | Posted - 7/20/2004 2:34:18 AM Got a MDC modem labled with Actiontec MD560RD from a Dell Laptop. I downloaded the recommended driver for this modem from Dell website and installed it. But looks like the OS does not think the driver is for the modem and installation failed. As the modem comes with a Engineering sample, so I think maybe the modem is a x-rev hardware too and is not supported by Dell. I take a look into the modem and find the chipsets on the modem are Conexant smartmcII and smartDAA. According to some websites, the chipsets support full-duplex audio and voice.(http://www.tdc.co.uk/modems/modems_pc2.htm#smartmc) And finally I got a generic HSF AC97 modem from Conexant driver assisstant. The driver works fine(at least in the Diagnostic Tab, and the HyperTerminal, not sure the actual dial), but it appears the modem does not support voice with the driver. Attached is the log of listmodem application from Conexant. ===================================================================== ===================================================================== MODEM #1: DEDUCED INFORMATION: BTW, Actiontec does not support this modem in its website too :( . |
