You would think someone there would have come up with the correct sets of commands for the various modem chipsets if your connection charges are really so high. . It is impossible with an internal modem as the modem is reset along with the computer on reboot. . I was thinking, is it the phone call that's expensive or the login to your ISP? Probably not worth following up this line of reasoning, because the ISP would drop his end without response from your end. So my original thought above will probably be the only way. .bh.
