Are there a way to keep your modem and line alive when machine have to reboot for downloads to take effect.We pay special subscription for each reconnection that is quite heavy

Can you save your downloads to a folder to install at other time. No you can not kept line connection.

It might be possible with an external serial modem using the right set of modem commands. You would think someone there would have come up with the correct sets of commands for the various modem chipsets if your connection charges are really so high.
. It is impossible with an internal modem as the modem is reset along with the computer on reboot.
. I was thinking, is it the phone call that's expensive or the login to your ISP? Probably not worth following up this line of reasoning, because the ISP would drop his end without response from your end. So my original thought above will probably be the only way.

One way you might do this but you would need two pc is download it on one than send it to the other one.
