Sounds like NetZero dialer is not set to use the correct modem and is trying a non-existent modem.

Remove or edit any DUNs connectoids that refer to modem that is not installed

Post your modem log

Aloha! Richard.

ATDT*##,#######<cr>

I know this has been a problem with AOL but could also be a problem with netzero remove *## in dialing properties to disable call waiting.Just use the the connection number.

Your connection may have been dropped due to technical difficulties with the access number you are using. Try connecting to NetZero again. If the problem persists, try using another access number in your area. For instructions on how to change your access number

What version do you have installed?

Might try this,
