I've been having a problem with very poor throughput with my 56K USR Winmodem. With the help of the v.Unreliable site (excellent site, by the way!) I managed to discover that by limiting my connect speed to 33K, I could quadruple my throughput.

So I checked the results of the aty11 test, and these are the results:
OK
aty11
Freq Level (dB)
300 23
450 21
600 20
750 12
900 3113
1050 11385
1200 0
1350 23
1500 23
1650 24
1800 24
1950 25
2100 25
2250 26
2400 26
2550 27
2700 27
2850 27
3000 28
3150 29
3300 30
3450 32
3600 35
3750 40

Notice the weird numbers at the 1050 level (KHz?). I don't know how to interpret these numbers, do they imply that I have a serious frequency dropoff at that level? Wouldn't that have degraded voice traffic? Could it be a faulty modem?

Also, ati6 reports a ton of "Blers", whatever that means. Block errors, perhaps?

I would RTFM, but the manual that came with the modem was designed for idiots in mind.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for this web page!

Those numbers are bogus.... You wouldn't have a connection if those were the 'real' values;

I would check for modem upgrade, or possibly re-install driver as it might be corrupted?
