Hi,
I have Windows XP and want to sign up for SBC DSL.
I read somewhere that their DSL modem are not compatiable with certain windows XP modems. I have Agere modem. Any idea if this will work? Also, would I need a Ethernet card? My LAN says 1394 Net Adapter.
I'm pretty new to the whole DSL system, would appreciate any help I can get!
Thanx.
v.Richard

Not sure what you mean - DSL modem not compatible w/ Agere modem -
DSL requires its own modem; you will not need to use dial-up modem to connect to Internet, but should be able to keep it in the system (and use if you wish).

1394 is a 'Firewire' interface - primarily used to connect devices like digital camcorder to PC;

Many DSL modems include Ethernet and USB ports - you can use this type of modem without an Ethernet card in PC by using USB.

Aloha! Richard.
