The modem is the original mini PCI internal modem. After an electrical storm the modem did not recognize a dial tone (usual scenerio). However, after replacing the modem card I still experience the exact same problem. Also, I checked the new modem in another system and it worked fine - so that's not it. Other than replacing the modem I don't know what else to do. It responds to AT commands ect., but no dial tone in this computer. Is there another component (other than the motherboard) that could be at fault? It just seems incredibly odd that the system works 100% fine save only for this no dial tone problem which in every case in the past has always resolved for me by simply replacing the modem. Any suggestions would be welcome. (I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the correct drivers.) Sincerely, |
