...AKA call for pizza function...

If I use a cell phone to call my home line while I am online, but I hang up right after the window pops up on my computer, i can answer the phone and I get a dial tone, allowing me to dial out while on the internet. So that means if i can get the window to pop up when I want it to, i can call out. Is there any way to make it pop up without having to call my own house via cell phone?

there is no modem on hold menu. my modem has the software built in to the driver, and there is no such option. all i need is a way to make the menu pop up onto my screen.

I have two modems in my computer. Both have the MoH software built into the driver. If there is any way to make the MoH dialog pop up on command I would like to find out. Or is there a way to flash in the middle of an internet session? That might help?
My modems are:
BCM Voicemodem
and..
PCTel or somethin like that

Do a search for the netwait.ini or Netwaiting.ini file.
Might make this change in the ini file.
CallButtonStatus=0 CHANGED 2 to 0
;0=normal behavior, 1=always grayed, 2=always hidden

I don't use netwaiting software. My MoH is built into the driver. There is no such file to which i can make changes. Even so, those changes would not give me the result I want. I want a way to make the MoH box pop up by making some kind of shortcut or some command to make the computer think its recieving an incoming call.

What driver version are you using? Netwaiting was the moh before the 3.5.24 driver

Earlier drivers used BVRP Net-Waiting software to provide modem-on-hold; the new drivers have it "built-in" (the driver runs ESSSPK.exe to handle MoH).

Yes i know all of this. I dont know what version and i dont feel like checking right now, but it is built in so it is after 3.whatever....and teh program that runs is actually called BCMSMMSG.exe but i dont know why...anyways i want the dialog box for either modems built in software to pop up ON COMMAND and i need a way to do this...some kind of program function or a shortcut with added commands...its really not knowledge of modems i need, just knowledge of programming commands to make the dialog box come up

Not sure if this would work but might set the pctel to dial you phone number.Might have to set it up as multi link. Then put a shortcut from the connectoid on the desktop.Just set up a new connection in the dial up folder to dial your home phone number. Just wanted the driver version so would I know what MOH program to work with.I do not have any of these two modems to test setup.

found solution:

www.sprintrelayonline.com allows you to call people over the internet. You type and an operator reads and types what the other person says. I can call myself, tell the operator to hang up after one ring, and then the dialog will pop up. I can then press answer, and if the operator hung up then instead of getting the operator i should get a dial tone.

"Sprint Relay Online (SRO) is a service offered to deaf and hard of hearing individuals that allows them to place relay calls over the Internet between locations in the United States (including its territories)."

Your intent is to abuse this public service program provided to the hearing impaired community so you can "call for pizza" with your modem while online.

Not Cool man; Not Cool at all.

I don't think the trained people at the SRO center are going to call anyone and then hang up.

Downgrade your BCM modem driver to one that uses the Netwaiting program that allows you to initiate an outgoing call while online or spend $20 and purchase a Agere Winmodem that also allows outgoing calls while online when used with the Agere "Modem on Hold" program.
