Windows NT, 2k, XP: Dial-up networking uses the phonebook file: rasphone.pbk which should be in the Windows\system32\RAS folder. Make sure the file is in this folder. (Use FIND files). If the file is missing, remove and re-install networking components including dial-up networking. This error should not occur with Windows 9x/Me. I searched for the file listed and I do not have it. I also followed the path listed and the file is not there. My problem is more steps to get from removing and re-installing networking components ncluding dial-up networking. While I am not a computer novice, I am not so brave as to try and figure out where or how to start this process. Help! Anyone? We have Windows XP.

Might also need to remove the old dial up connectoid and make a new one. Edited by - charles on 9/15/2004 1:59:37 AM |
