Our village is in 246 Km from telephone switch in Bulgan. We need in reliable analog modem for Internet. We have air cable to Bulgan for telephone conversation and it works. What modem is better?
How to choose?

Your modem will be limited by the "air cable" (and the rest of the call to the Internet provider).

If the air cable provides specs similar to what you'd get with "normal" telco facilities, you should get a decent (V.34) connect; if the specs are substantially different than telco specs, you may need to reduce your connect rate to very low speeds (300bps/1200bps/2400bps).

My first choice for modems to use in your situation would be USR external (older modems not currently sold - Courier or Sportster V.34 or V.90).

Aloha! Richard.
