Oscar Méndez Tl Posts: 4 Costa Rica | Posted - 10/12/2004 2:20:20 PM I`m not really sure what is the speed setting I need to use to connect this modem to a laptop. I have tried 9600 and 38400 but the modem would not reply to the AT inputs. (I know the cable is fine) Also I´d like to know the AT command to set flow control on a surfer motorola modem. I have tried at%h1 and at*fl but I get an ERROR message either way. Thanks.

Oscar Méndez Tl Posts: 4 Costa Rica | Posted - 10/12/2004 2:37:46 PM The US robotics modem mdel number is 0701 and I am making reference to the hyperterminal speed. The Motorola modem is from the voice surfr series, model 3456 |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 10/13/2004 8:25:36 PM Not sure about the Motorola modem. If this is a software modem, there is no "real" flow control as the port is virtual. For the USR - the modem should respond to AT at any baud rate so long as the DIP switches for modem are set properly (the default settings). What lights appear on the modem when you enter Hyperterminal? Aloha! Richard. |
Oscar Méndez Tl Posts: 4 Costa Rica | Posted - 10/15/2004 4:13:48 PM Thanks for your posting Richard well I have tried nearly all the speeds allowed by hyperterminal and the USR would not respond in any of them I`m not sure what are the lights names. I gotta double check that. |
Oscar Méndez Tl Posts: 4 Costa Rica | Posted - 11/12/2004 10:08:11 AM The problem was that the equipment I was trying to get access to, would not allow that access without admin user privileges. |
