simon wampoa Tl Posts: 3 USA | Posted - 10/20/2004 2:22:46 PM Just re-installed WIN 98 on Sony desktop PC and applications like AOL will not see modem which they were able to see before. I think it is a Lucent modem and Device manager identifies it as DSDV56K modem. Window says it is installed properly, but AOL can't see it and trying to talk to it system says " No response" from modem. Any ideas?

However, I will attempt as you say to download its driver from say "driverguide.com" and see if it works. Simon |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 10/22/2004 2:44:24 AM GVC makes modems with many different chipsets - there is no such thing as a 'GVC' driver that will work with all GVC modems. Your modem won't work unless you use the correct driver. Modemsite offers generic drivers for all modems based upon the 'LT Win Modem' chipset - www.modemsite.com/56k/chipset.asp Aloha! Richard. |
