pat hudson Tl Posts: 1 United Kingdom | Posted - 10/25/2004 6:46:43 AM hello. i have an internal 56k modem that i use only to send and recieve faxes. I spilt my phone line into two, one to my normal land line and the other to my computer. When the phone line is connected to my computer i recieve incoming calss but i cannot dial out. I do get the dailing tone when i pick up the reicever but my phone does not dail out. PLease can anyone advise me on how to rectilfy this problem. Thanking you in anticipation Pat |
v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 10/25/2004 1:56:09 PM The line cord to the modem should have only 2 wires connected through. If you used a 4-wire cable, change to a 2-wire cable. The modem could be defective. If you have WindowsXP/SP2, you may be experiencing a driver problem - Smartlink modems may not work with SP2 Do you get a DUNS error? Check/post your modemlog Aloha!
