We have to manufacture several boards of an old design
(circa 1995), and we need the following part:

SM224ATFH1D0A0P1

We have found someone that can sell us several amounts of the following part:

SM224ATFH0D0A1P1

After searching through Internet, I have not been able to find the meaning of the suffixes, so I cannot be sure what differences I may expect (parallel interface instead of
serial interface?, RS-232 serial instead of TTL?...)

Can anybody please enlighten me?
Thanks a lot.

Multi-Tech Systems took over the Socketmodem from Conexant/Rockwell and might be able to provide the information you need.

SM in the part number denotes "Socketmodem", Rockwell trademark

"Multi-Tech Systems has agreed on terms to take over the manufacture and distribution of Conexant's SocketModem business."

* H in the part number denotes the interface. I could not find anything on the suffix.
H0 parallel host interface
H1 serial host interface (TTL level)
H2 serial host interface (V24/EIA-232-D level)
