Bellsouth is telling me my house is wired with the wrong wire to be able to run there dial up modem.
Is there a special wire I need to run?
And why is this wire so special?

Normal residential telephone service almost always uses wires that can be use to run a dial up modem. So it's quite a surprise for your house to be wired with the wrong wire. If your phone lines work, chances are your dialup modem will work. Maybe it isn't a dial up modem Bellsouth is referring to. It could be a cable modem which requires a cable rather than your existing phone line. Or it could be a DSL modem which would require them to install extra-line in ceratin circumstances in order for their modem to work.

The best way to put your questions to rest is to ask Bellsouth further about your problem and perhaps for any suggestions too to solve them. You can also try other ISPs.
