carl_ral5 Tl Posts: 2 United Arab Emirates | Posted - 11/25/2004 7:57:03 PM Have Win 2K OS. The modem cannot be detected. Modem is Volcano K56Softkey PCI Modem. The COM Ports especially Ports 2, 3, & 4 are lost. Windows is looking for appropriate modem driver. Windows was deleted because of the virus and reinstalled the OS. Before I deleted the OS, the modem uses COM 4 port. Please help me and direct me to the right driver. And how to reinstall ports of the windows. Thanks a lot.

v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 11/26/2004 1:50:30 PM You will need to get modem driver and install using the driver's setup program. Your modem is a Conexant Soft56 chipset - www.modemsite.com/56k/soft56.asp You should also fix the COM port issue - which is same process as for XP and described here in'ComPort in Use': The modem cannot be installed using Windows' Add New Hardware. Aloha! Richard. |
