I have a HP computer and kept getting an error message that my computer couldn't work without downloading the driver update from Windows Update for my Agere modem (Modemsite's). I got a blue screen that told me I had an error. So I downloaded the windows update driver and haven't had any problems since. However, my transmit and receive will go up to 28,800 only and with Modemsite's driver I could get up to 33,000. Any suggestions. Should I leave it alone or try to download the 8.30 again? Thanks.

There shouldn't be any reason you can't use the 8.30 driver - you can re-install it.

Are you running WindowsXP? Service Pack 2?

Aloha! Richard.

I'm a bit further away from my phone company's phone bank. Maybe that's why I'm not getting 33,333 for the transit and receive? Thanks.

You are getting a 52k connect which is fantastic.
The transmit - upstream rate - is limited to a max of 33.6k - and 28.8k is very good.

Aloha! Richard.
