Hi... My name is Damián from Argentina.
I try install the WinModem of Motorola SM56 PCI Speakerphone in LINUX MANDRAKE 9.2 (FiveStar) with Kernel v2.4.22-10mdk and MotherBoar SOYO. I download Public Driver of Motorola Website for Mandrake 9.2...

The Installation is successfull:

[root@localhost damy]# rpm -ivh sm56.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:sm56 ########################################### [100%]
Checking version compatibility.
Version supported.
Generating sm56 with current settings.
`sm56.o' -> `/lib/modules/2.4.22-10mdk/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o'
Installing sm56.
Adding SM56 to /etc/modules.conf...
Installation successful.
Remember to read the sm56 MAN page for documentation:
man sm56

Please restart the system.

Then i try load the module:
[root@localhost /]# insmod sm56 54

Using /lib/modules/2.4.22-10mdk/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o

Warning: loading /lib/modules/2.4.22-10mdk/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o will taint the kernel: non-GPL license - Proprietary

Module sm56 loaded, with warnings

and...

[root@localhost scanModem]# wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf

Sorry, no modem was detected! Is it in use by another program?

Did you configure it properly with setserial?

Please read the FAQ at http://open.nit.ca/wvdial/

If you still have problems, send mail to wvdial-list@lists.nit.ca.
