Thanks to anyone who can offer me a bit of help.

I am using a Broadcom Homefree Home Network pci card with XP and it seemed to be working fine for a while. Just a couple days ago, it stopped working and under properties of the device i'm receiving the error:

"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."

I went through troubleshooting and really couldn't find the problem.

I am also getting a plug and play configuration error everytime i restart my pc.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

thanks in advance!

KC

You may have had SP2 or other updates installed on your computer -
Check support website for your network card to see if they have updated drivers or any info that may relate to your situation;
You should go into PC's BIOS to resolve plug&play; and/or try putting the network card in a different PCI slot;
XP includes rollback for drivers and uninstall for many system updates including SP2 - driver rollback in device manager; uninstall updates from add/remove programs, both from ControlPanel.

Aloha! Richard.

Thanks for the info Richard. Much appreciated.

Broadcom doesn't appear to support this card on their site and since I purchased and added it separately from the system, I'm not sure I can get any support. Any suggestions?

Also, what exactly am I supposed to do once I get into my BIOS to fix the plug and play issue? I'm not very familiar with that process.

I'll give uninstalling any updates a shot as well.

Thanks again for the help.

Aloha back to ya.

The manufacturer of the card is supposed to provide support - however, that may not happen which leaves you stuck.

As for the BIOS - there are different makers of BIOS and once you get in, the screens/options will differ; you'd be looking for entries that relate to PnP - and most BIOS usually have an option to reset to factory defaults which you might want to try.

First you may want to see in the PnP config error goes away by removing the home network card physically from the machine.

Aloha! Richard.
