| kltye Tl Posts: 19 Malaysia | Posted - 12/14/2004 11:34:23 AM    Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 with Broadcom's v.92 modem. It appears that it's not a voice modem. Is there any way I can get drivers to make it function as a voice modem, since this is a softmodem? Thanks! |
| v.Richard Tl Posts: 6222 USA | Posted - 12/16/2004 10:46:32 AM  If no Broadcom drivers support voice, the only possibility would be that another vendor's drivers (with modification) would work with your modem. For example, this has been done with the Agere AC'97 softmodem - modified Smartlink drivers can be used with this modem. This is possible in part because Smartlink & Agere both use the same codec (DAA). Aloha! Richard. |
