I want to install an Agere Systems PCI Soft modem, removed from a new HP a705w with Windows XP, on an old HP 6638 with Windows 98. The old machine does not find the drivers for the new modem. Is there anyway to transfer drivers from the new machine? How best to proceed? Thanks

You can't use WindowsXP drivers on Windows98.
Windows98 drivers are available from Modemsite (with Premium subscription) at
www.modemsite.com/56k/premiumc.asp

HP isn't likely to provide Win98 drivers as it was not a current OS at the time they started using the modem.
