I was using this modem to ISP dial up internet and was fine for years: also Winfax thro same modem. Used Line o/P from card to phone. Now on Broadband via USB but still wish to use USR for FAX only. Question 1: Can I still use Modem with Winfax via card 'line' O/P or should I use card 'phone'O/P?
Question 2. Is there an easy way to 'disconnect' modem when not on Fax to avoid rogue diallers?
Question 3. I am on single GPO line with a box so that I can use BB and telephone at same time. Will this mess up fax?
many thanks

Yes - can still use - should plug phone line into 'line' on modem.

Qeustion 2 - easy is matter of opinion - unplug the modem line cord, or use a switch box to disconnect the phone line - unless modem is an external which you can power 'off'.

Question 3 - not familiar with the terms GPO & BB.

Aloha! Richard.

GPO, General Purpose Outputs
BB, BroadBand

"""Broadband users make use of a different means of internet accecss that is not dependent on modem dialup (ADSL, leased line etc.) and should not be affected by rogue dialler applications. However, it may be a sensible precaution to disconnect your modem from the PSTN circuit whilst using a broadband connection to prevent any unrequired application from making additional dial up calls. If the modem is required for other purposes (sending/receiving fax etc.) then take steps to ensure that your internet connection is set to 'never dial a connection', that you check your machine for rogue diallers at frequent intervals and use a check dialler application to block calls to premium rate or international numbers."""
