Hi,

I want to dial from my PC by phoneline to another PC with 56k modems (see sheme under).
So is it possible with 2 normal modem (especialy for the one that will respond to my dial) and if yes how to do it (settings and so)?

And is it possible that the 'Distant PC" have an ADSL connection (USB or Ethernet or connected by LAN to another PC that will be connected to ADSL) that can be used from my home PC? If yes how to set this?

Schema:
Home PC - modem -- phone line -- modem - Distant PC - ADSL or second PC+ADSL

My intention is: call a distant PC by 56k modem on unlimmited call phone line (so free) to be able to use the ADSL connection on that Distant PC because I can't get ADSL at home and Internet calls are still "pay per minute"...

You can call PC to PC/ modem-to modem (maximum speed you can get with 2 56k client modems will be 33.6k - no 56k will be possible).

If machine with ADSL is running WindowsXP-Professional, you can use Windows Remote Desktop.

Or, set up ADSL machine as a RAS server - this can be done with Windows NT/2000/XP.

Aloha! Richard.
