I have an Agere PCI SoftModem and need to set up for voice so I can use an online voice mail program. How can I tell if this will work? The Voicemail software says it is not a voice modem but I'm thinking there is a driver I need??

The Softmodem is a voicemodem with the standard driver - voice functionality using the PC sound system, in 1/2-duplex telephone answering machine, with compatible software.
However, a modem can do only 1 thing at a time - if you are online (data/Internet connection), the modem is in data mode - and voice functionality is IP-data.

My hardware ID is:
I have a data/fax Lectron I56LVP-F70. It's not a voice modem. You can check the fccid number to find exactly what you have. My Lectron had the sticker on it showing the number. Hope this helps.
