Replace Modem? Surely there must be a way that I could replace my modem, which is incredibly slow, it is a: BCM V.92 56K modem on a Dell Inspiron 5100. Can I use a PCMCIA card on this laptop? can I install another better modem inside? any help appreciated!
Thanks, Mimsky

With notebook - you can use PCMCIA modem card; (no need to remove the bundled modem).

Removing and replacing the bundled modem isn't something I'd recommend -
with notebooks, modem may be integrated into the design in such a way that you cannot replace just the modem, or find a replacement that would fit.

Aloha! Richard.
